Google’s Android to Make $1 Billion a Year (and Steve Ballmer said there is no money with Android)
Google’s Android to Make $1 Billion a Year:
"Jonathan Rosenberg, who oversees Google’s entire product portfolio, told analysts on a conference call that the company’s display advertising unit is now a $2.5 billion business, on an annualized basis. Android’s revenue is at $1 billion a year, extrapolating from the most recent quarter’s results. At a financial earnings conference call Google revealed some surprisingly huge Android and display ad sales revenue figures. Not only is their display ad unit sales tipped at $2.5 billion a year, but extrapolating revenue figures from the most recent quarter they expect to see $1 billion a year from Android.
Google has already projected Android to be a $10 billion annual revenue generating machine, and this is a success step in that direction."
